Cal Poly Pomona
Virtual History 202
"Making
History Studying History"
|
First/Last Class Meeting
|
The video of this historic meeting is available from Cal Poly Pomona MediaVision in streaming
video format. You may view this from an Ethernet connection on campus (and
from a PC from off-campus) as follows:
- The best place for students to view the video is in the Commons Student
Lab on the 5th floor of the CLA Building.
- First, make sure that your computer has a program for viewing streaming
video. If not, go to the MediaBase
website.
- On the MediaBase website, go to Install
MediaBase Video Players. There you can download players for Win95 (use
CompCore Software MPEG-1 Player for on-campus Ethernet links or
Progressive Networks RealPlayer for Windows 95 for off-campus viewing with
a fast computer and high-speed modem connection); WinNT, Macintosh (use
Silicon Graphics player, which requires QuickTime 3); Silicon Graphics,
Sun Solaris, or IBM RS/6000 AIX Workstations.
- Download and install the appropriate video player. The best place to
store the viewer is in the web browser folder. The video players are separate
video viewing programs, not web browser plug-ins. The first time that you
try to view a streaming video, your web browser will prompt you to pick
the application. Locate and select the viewer. You will only need to select
the viewing application once.
- On the MediaForce Website, go to the List
All Videos section. The class video can be found in the Technology_Education folder, entitled, Kullmann Puz Virtual Class Roundtable. Double-click
on the title to bring up the video.
- The video is 1 hour and 58 minutes long. A slider on the video viewer
allows you to move to any point in the video that you wish to view.
Use the Agenda below as a guide. The video starts at 10:00 am. Thus,
for example, if you wish to view the Community Dialog on Virtual Education,
move the viewer to approximately 1:00
