Pasquarelli: NFL penalty for Boston?
| | Boston |
Star wide receiver David Boston, who missed the second half of this past season following knee surgery, could face league-imposed disciplinary action after pleading "no contest" Jan. 29 to DUI charges. The charges stemmed from a March 2002 incident in which a motorist noticed Boston driving erratically, phoned police, and then followed the wide receiver home and waited until law enforcement personnel arrived. According to police, Boston tested positive for marijuana and cocaine. A possession charge was subsequently dropped. Boston was sentenced Wednesday to 10 days in jail, all but one of which will be suspended when he completes a drug screening.
Report: Broncos to pursue Plummer
| | Plummer threw more INTs than TDs for the fourth time in his six year career. |
With their quarterback situation up in the air for next season, Broncos sources have confirmed the team recently concluded an in-depth film analysis of prospective free-agent quarterbacks and decided Jake Plummer is the man to go after, The Denver Post reported Jan. 28. Cardinals officials and coaches will meet during the next few weeks to determine the level of interest in re-signing Plummer. There is a definite concern over whether he is the answer under center, but there are some things working in his favor. Plummer's best season was 2001, when the offensive line and receiving corps weren't paralyzed by injuries. Of course, the lack of available free agents to replace him and the fact that he actually wants to return will be big factors, as well.
