Iowa superiority Don't let the final score fool you. No. 2 Iowa's 26-10 win over No. 13 Penn State on Sunday was a lot closer than most people thought it would be. Even though Iowa (13-3, 3-1 Big Ten) won eight matches to just two for Penn State (10-6, 3-3), five bouts could have gone either way. But, give the Hawkeyes credit, they've earned a reputation of finding a way to win close battles as they did before an estimated Rec Hall crowd of 5,100.

Kobe is NBA's reigning gold standard
Everyone talks about it. At the water cooler, at the corner store, in the mall, at the barber shop and even the beauty salon, the talk is more prevalent than ever now that the North Carolina Kid has, sadly, passed his prime.

NBA West All-Stars Beat East 155-145, 2OT
The ball left Michael Jordan's right hand, rotating perfectly in a towering arc, barely touching the twine as it fell through for the All-Star game's winning basket. Only it wasn't. A few seconds later, Kobe Bryant was sprawled on the court, sent flying by Jermaine O'Neal after flinging up a desperation 3-pointer. Bryant made two free throws to force a second overtime, and the West beat Jordan's East team 155-145 Sunday night.
