Bush wins support from NATO leaders against Iraq
NATO leaders pledged unanimous support Thursday for a stringent United Nations mandate to disarm Iraq. Even NATO member Germany, which has said it would not participate in a war on Iraq, went along. The U.S.-drafted statement declared that the 19 NATO member countries "stand united in their commitment to take effective action" to aid U.N. efforts to eliminate Iraq's weapons of mass destruction.

Senior al-Qaida leader captured
The United States has captured a senior al-Qaida leader who is providing interrogators with information about the terrorist group's plots and also may possess clues to the whereabouts of its top leadership, senior U.S. officials said Thursday.
