Just 17, her future is now
Her father may have been the first to see it. Andrew O'Reilly had been an all-American half-miler at Villanova. A couple of teammates were Olympians while still undergraduates, so he saw their gifted traits up close. To his surprise, O'Reilly thought he recognized some of the same gifts in his own young daughter when she was on a soccer field.

Dock's goal in OT clinches 'A' crown
The Christopher Dock boys' soccer team had reason to unravel early this season after starting the year 0-3. Two important players were injured. Coach Steve Smucker was trying to piece together a solid lineup. Winning the PIAA Class A championship was the furthest thing from the Pioneers' minds.

Punting played a huge role in Lansdale Catholic's 15-12 nonleague win over host Methacton yesterday. A blocked punt led to the winning touchdown with less than four minutes left. Later, the Crusaders (7-4 overall) forced the Warriors (4-8) to punt, and ran out the clock.

Bishop Eustace didn't mind getting overlooked. The Crusaders boys' cross-country team had read and heard that Pope John XXIII was the favorite to win yesterday's Parochial B state championship. But they didn't care. The Crusaders knew they didn't have anyone who could run at the front. But they didn't worry.
