1812 war site almost ready for new visitors
Ohio may not have a Bunker Hill or a Gettysburg, but it does have newly refurbished Fort Meigs. The log-and-earth fortification overlooking the Maumee River south of Toledo in Wood County played a key role in the War of 1812.

A 140-year-old newspaper and a veteran's ashes. Jim Mayo prizes many things inside the Stars and Stripes Museum and Library, a small spot in southeast Missouri dedicated to the famous ``Soldier's Newspaper.'' But to him, it's those two things tucked inside the museum's safe that tell the story best.
