Garnett getting tougher on T'wolves
Kevin Garnett has evidently come of age. Garnett seems to have concluded that Timberwolves can no longer use the huge salary they pay him as a legitimate excuse for the club's repeated failure to surround him with the supporting talent needed to compete in the powerful NBA Western Conference.

Flyers prove their point with two goals by Primeau
It was just one game in a long, 82-game schedule, but it meant more than that to the Flyers. They finally beat the Ottawa Senators, 2-1, last night at the First Union Center. Ottawa is the team that embarrassed the Flyers in last spring's playoffs, holding them to just two goals in five games.

Busch says he learned from loss and thanks crew chief for wins
Take him out of a race car, and you might mistake Kurt Busch for a teenager who spends his weekends flipping burgers. But while the 24-year-old Las Vegas native's youthful appearance could present a problem with doormen working the casinos in his hometown, Busch is showing an impressive level of maturity and wisdom in just his second full season on NASCAR's top circuit.

Eagles Notes | Giants' Collins: Dawkins crossed line
Brian Dawkins' hit on Giants wide receiver Ike Hilliard was still reverberating yesterday. The Giants announced that Hilliard would be out for the season with a dislocated right shoulder. Meanwhile, in New York, there was an outcry about the hit. Dawkins was penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct for lowering his head and drilling Hilliard after the receiver failed to catch a Kerry Collins pass.
