   Dow falls 24 in morning trading

Germany's key indicator of business sentiment fell for the fifth straight month in October as Europe's biggest economy struggled to find new momentum, according to a report released.

Treasuries rally on Fed hopes
Treasury prices firmed for the fourth straight session on Monday as the market weighed the chances of a near-term cut in U.S. interest rates after newspaper reports suggested sentiment within the Federal Reserve was shifting toward an easing.

London share prices up at midday
Share prices on the London Stock Exchange were higher at midday.

Asian stock markets close higher
Asian stock markets closed higher across the board, boosted largely by last week's gains on Wall Street.
