Jersey guard commits to Drexel
Bashir Mason, a 5-11 guard from St. Benedict's Prep in Newark, N.J., has verbally committed to Drexel. Mason averaged 12 points and 10 assists last season for a team that won the Prep A/Parochial A state championship, said Dan Hurley, St. Benedict's coach and former Seton Hall player.

Drexel basketball throws itself a party
After practicing in private for a week, the Drexel men's and women's basketball teams opened the doors at the Daskalakis Athletic Center yesterday and welcomed their fellow students and other fans.

Florida State is favored, but Notre Dame defies logic
Florida State was a 10-point favorite over Notre Dame at one point this week, and while the spread will surely shrink as Saturday approaches, it remains logical to pick the Seminoles to win this football game.
