Tony Pedregon leads Funny Car qualifying

LAS VEGAS - Tony Pedregon led Funny Car qualifying Friday night in the Las Vegas NHRA Nationals with a quarter-mile run of 4.786 seconds at 322.73 mph.

Larry Dixon, Greg Stanfield and Angelle Savoie also led their divisions in the ACDelco-sponsored competition, the 23rd of 24 events this season.

Dixon led Top Fuel at 4.569 seconds and 323.81 mph, and Stenfield topped the Pro Stock field at 6.939 and 197.83. Savoie set a track elapsed-time record in the Pro Stock Motorcycle category with a run of 7.265 at 183.72.
