ThatsRacin.com, Jayski.com form partnership

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Feb.13, 2001 - | Surfing the Internet for the latest NASCAR news, rumors and rumblings just got easier as two of the Internet's leading independent stock car racing news providers have become partners.

Beginning today, Jayski's Silly Season (www.jayski.com) joins forces with ThatsRacin.com (www.ThatsRacin.com), which will now host and serve Jayski.com as well as promote it on its home page by linking to Jayski.com from all of its navigation pages. In addition, all Jayski.com pages will carry ThatsRacin.com branding.

"As the two largest independent NASCAR content providers on the Internet, ThatsRacin.com and Jayski.com make natural allies in this competitive market," said Stan Kleine, site manager for ThatsRacin.com. "ThatsRacin.com's comprehensive NASCAR news coverage and Jayski.com's portal services for fans complement one another. This unique partnership truly creates a one-stop experience for race fans."

ThatsRacin.com debuted online in February 1998 and receives promotion through the weekly That's Racin' print series, which runs in Knight Ridder's 31 newspapers and is syndicated to more than 30 non-Knight Ridder newspapers nationwide. Since its inception, ThatsRacin.com has become the largest online source of independent stock car racing news. To complement the stories and columns from award-winning journalists David Poole and Jim Utter, content from all available newspaper coverage of the sport from Knight Ridder/Tribune sources is collected and distributed throughout the site. In addition to the latest stock car news, the site also contains commentary, driver information and statistics, as well as fantasy games, photo galleries and slide shows.

Since August of 1996, Jay Adamczyk has posted NASCAR driver/team/sponsor news and rumors found on various Internet sites, newspapers, magazines, or TV shows on his site Jayski.com. What began as a hobby turned into a full-time job for the New Jersey resident in December of 1999. Since then, Jayski.com has become the clearinghouse for NASCAR news -- with more than 500 pages of information. The site, which averaged 100 page views per day in the beginning, now receives more than 100,000 daily and is one of the most highly visited NASCAR sites on the Internet.

"This is the best deal all-around for my readers, the site and myself," Adamczyk said. "ThatsRacin.com has a loyal following and since it's owned by KnightRidder.com, leaders in interactive information on the Web and owners of the Real Cities network which reaches millions of users globally, I expect to gain much more exposure and new readers for my site. My respect for David Poole and Jim Utter, who write the majority of the columns for ThatsRacin.com, also made the partnership very appealing."

As part of the ThatsRacin.com/Jayski.com partnership, Adamczyk's role will not change. He will maintain ownership of the site, continue to manage his content and retain complete editorial control of Jayski.com. Beyond promotion of ThatsRacin.com through branding and hyperlinks, Jayski.com users will not notice any difference in the site, and can still access it by pointing their browsers to www.jayski.com

The partnership also signals the development of a number of new features and utilities for users. These new features will provide advertisers with a number of new interactive methods of reaching NASCAR fans. This week, ThatsRacin.com unveils its free fantasy games as part of its new partnership with Fanball.com, a leader in the fantasy sports market. To bring fans the ultimate in fantasy racing, two games will be offered this season: "Race to Riches" where fans will try to predict the top-10 finishers in the upcoming race to win $1 million; and "Bid2Play Racing" which combines the excitement of fantasy racing with online auctioning. Fans can simply point their browsers to www.ThatsRacin.com and follow the links to Fantasy Racing to sign up for the games.

Known as the site for NASCAR news, rumors and rumblings, Jayski.com posts NASCAR driver, team and sponsor news found on the Internet, in newspapers and magazines, as well as on TV shows and at races for fans around the globe.

ThatsRacin.com is a leading and independent NASCAR news and interactive service reaching enthusiasts all over the world. Both ThatsRacin.com and Charlotte.com are a member of the Real Cities network, founded by KnightRidder.com. Real Cities is a network of city and regional Web sites nationwide. KnightRidder.com, a premier provider of local information on the Web, is headquartered in San Jose, Calif.
