Prime Sports Interactive to develop fantasy baseball game for Real Cities network

DALLAS, Texas - April 3, 2000 - | Prime Sports Interactive, a leading creator, provider and integrator of online fantasy sports games, will create, operate and run a customized fantasy baseball game for KnightRidder.com¼s Real Cities network.

Real Cities is one of the fastest-growing local networks on the Web today with destination hubs in 33 US cities, offering consumers in-depth local information and online services in the areas of news, entertainment, shopping, classifieds, community publishing, Internet access and archives.

Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez, last year¼s American League Most Valuable Player and catcher for the Texas Rangers, has endorsed the game.

"This is a great opportunity for fans to know the players better and a percentage of the proceeds will benefit the Ivan 'Pudge' Rodriguez Foundation, benefiting children in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and Puerto Rico battling cancer," Rodriguez said.

The fantasy baseball game, which is offered at no cost to the consumer, will be launched over Real Cities¼ network of 30 Web sites - making Prime Sports Interactive the first provider to create an individualized fantasy sports game for each affiliate. The game will help Real Cities develop brand recognition, significantly increase ad sales and overall revenues, and provide additional sticky content.

"Developing a fantasy sports game for each affiliate and its community is unprecedented in the fantasy sports industry," said David Magdol, president of Prime Sports Interactive. "Prime Sports Interactive has brought sports marketing to a whole new level. The Real Cities game establishes us as pioneers and a major player in the sports marketing and entertainment industry."

"Fantasy sports is the best way to garner sticky content because people keep coming back to the site - making the fantasy baseball game an ideal marketing and sponsorship tool for our Real Cities network," said Tim Lambert, vice president of sales for KnightRidder.com. "We¼re always looking for recreational options for our users - Prime Sports Fantasy Baseball adds an exciting feature to our suite of local online entertainment resources."

The Real Cities game is expected to draw a significant amount of sports enthusiasts who will select their fantasy teams each week and compete against other players across the country. At the end of the season the top players will earn valuable cash prizes and autographed memorabilia signed by Rodriguez. The top prize is an all-inclusive travel package to a Texas Rangers game at the Ballpark in Arlington, Texas, seats directly behind home plate and an opportunity to meet Rodriguez.

The Real Cities fantasy baseball season begins on April 2, 2000.

The company provides both fee-based and free simulated sports games that allow participants to act as owners of professional teams in a number of different sporting categories, including football, baseball, hockey, basketball, Auto Racing, and golf.
