_ Tyler Wright, Blue Jackets, scored three goals to lead Columbus over Los Angeles 5-1.

_ Sergei Berezin, Blackhawks, scored twice in the first period in Chicago's 3-2 victory over San Jose.

WILD KINGDOM

Colorado failed to gain ground on Northwest Division-leading Minnesota after a 3-3 tie Sunday night. Minnesota has an NHL-best 14 points. Colorado has 10.

BACK IN TEAL

Evgeni Nabokov made 18 saves in San Jose's 3-2 loss to Chicago on Sunday night, his first game since ending a holdout Tuesday by signing a two-year contract. He backstopped the Sharks to their first ever division championship last season. Nabokov has changed his jersey number to 20 this year from 35 in honor of his father, Viktor, a goalie in the former Soviet league.

STREAK

Alex Zhamnov had two assists in Chicago's 3-2 win over San Jose on Sunday night, giving him at least a point in each of the Blackhawks' first seven games. He has a goal and eight assists.

NEW JACKETS

Before Columbus' 5-1 win over Los Angeles on Sunday night, the Kings had routed the Blue Jackets 7-1 in each of the last two Octobers.

STOP AND GO

Colorado remained winless at home at 0-1-3 after a 3-3 tie with Minnesota on Sunday night ... Los Angeles was beaten on the road for the first time (2-0-1) in a 5-1 loss at Columbus.
