PHILADELPHIA - Veteran center Olden Polynice, who sat out the 2001-02 season, was signed by the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday.

Polynice, a 7-footer who has played for five other teams in his 14-year career, missed all of last season after not re-signing with the Utah Jazz.

Polynice, who will be 38 in November, is averaging 7.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in his career. In his last season with the Jazz, he averaged 5.3 points and 4.7 rebounds in 81 games.
