In July 2000, Knight Ridder and Tribune Company agreed to acquire CareerBuilder, Inc. and CareerPath.com Inc. to create a powerful local and national online recruitment network. The company was an early provider of Internet access and now is providing local content across wireless networks and partnering with broadband DSL service providers.
