Scout's Honor... By Way of Blood
[Elektra]
Rating: 7.5

Based on what I'm hearing from Scout's Honor... By Way of Blood, Rampage is the most promising new rap acts to come out Brooklyn since yesterday. His debut record is intense, stylistic and hard as hell.

Having spent the better part of his childhood making tapes with his cousin, Busta Rhymes, he can throw down a funkyass rhythm in seconds and say what he came to say. Busta backs him up on a number of tracks with the most fun coming off "Wild For Da Night" and "The Set Up."

Speckled with some great samples (Public Enemy, Eric B. and Rakim, and Cameo) and 14 hard beats, Scout's Honor is one of the best rap debuts of the year.
