Cover Art Morning Glories
Let The Body Hang
[Cargo]
Rating: 3.1

Here's the rub: in my office, where I listen to all of the discs I review, I have this ten- disc changer. It's always filled with music that needs to be reviewed, and when one jumps up, I review it. The most interesting discs get done first, the weaker ones tend to linger.

Point #1: This disc has been in the changer for four months.
Point #2: I have consistently changed away from this disc to others.

Why review it now? I don't want to hear it again. The vocals are annoying to say the least. Instrumentally, they have their shit together but don't expect creativity or originality. With lo-fi indie- rock with dark rockabilly influences in the Morning Glories' toolbox, Let The Body Hang humps right along from uninspired verse to chorus, the irritating nasal twang grating all the way. Of course, the Morning Glories have a sure hedge against sell-out: nobody's buying.
