Soccer has taken an immense physical toll on Rutgers sophomore Carli Lloyd. On a recent day, she was sporting a shiner, courtesy of an errant elbow against Notre Dame. A groin injury has healed, but a bothersome case of turf toe has surfaced. Her legs take a constant pounding, especially when defenders cut them out from under her, which seems to be the only way they can stop her.
