Former York mayor acquitted
More than three decades after a young black woman was gunned down at the height of the city's race riots, an all-white jury yesterday convicted two white men of her murder and acquitted the former York mayor who prosecutors said orchestrated the attack.

Unexpected change
In 1996, Frederic Kauffman, a rising star at Temple University Medical Center, sought out Liz Dow, the president of Leadership Inc., to discuss some management challenges he was facing as director of the hospital's emergency department. Leadership Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that develops management skills and broadens community awareness for up-and-coming business executives.
