Top-Seeded Clijsters Advances

Top-seeded Kim Clijsters beat American Laura Granville 6-0, 6-4 Friday to advance to the semifinals of the Seat Open.

Clijsters, the defending champion, will face 19-year-old Virginie Razzano, who beat eighth-seeded Janette Husarova 7-6 (6), 6-1.

Razzano, of France, beat third-seeded Amanda Coetzer in the second round.

In another quarterfinal matches, Katarina Srebotnik beat Tina Pisnik 6-4, 6-3, and second-seeded Magdalena Maleeva defeated seventh-seeded Elena Bovina 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
