Ron Bracken | Swagger back in Lions' step
Not even in their best-case scenario could the most partied-out Penn State fan have imagined this. Before the Nittany Lions and Nebraska squared off, the national talking heads had tagged this as a "statement" game, whatever that means.

After loss to Lions, Cornhuskers return to square one
When you are a coach of a nationally ranked team and your team gets beaten 40-7 by a squad that's suffered back-to-back losing seasons, there's not a lot one can say about the plays in the game.

Deadly deer disease continues tp spread
Minnesota state veterinarian Bill Hartmann recently announced that chronic wasting disease had been discovered in a five-year-old farmed elk, marking the first detection of the disease in Minnesota.According to a news release, the state board of animal health immediately quarantined the herd while officials investigated the source of the infection and the possibility that other elk or deer may have been exposed. The private herd from which the infected bull elk came had been enrolled in the state's voluntary chronic wasting disease monitoring program since 2000. Four of their elk had been previously tested and all proved to be negative.
