WEEK 6
Commentary

   Happy homecoming for Saints' Brooks
Vintage Aaron Brooks it was not. His most productive passes were awkward heaves that just happened to find friendly hands. His worst pass was intercepted and returned for a touchdown. All this in front of approximately 75 family members and friends from back home in Newport News.

GAME SUMMARIES

NFC Champion Rams Finally Win Game
Unbeaten vs. winless was no contest. The St. Louis Rams, defending NFC champions but on a five-game slide, routed the previously spotless Oakland Raiders 28-13 Sunday - behind a third-string quarterback, no less.

Dolphins Win on Mare's Heroics
Olindo Mare kicked a 53-yard field goal with 6 seconds left to cap a thrilling finish as the Miami Dolphins beat the Denver Broncos 24-22 on Sunday night.

Rams Get First Win of the Season
The St. Louis Rams got their first victory of the season thanks to Marc Bulger, their best quarterback find since Kurt Warner left the grocery store.

Jags' Brunell Gets Concussion
Jacksonville quarterback Mark Brunell said he expects to play against Baltimore next week despite getting a concussion in the first quarter of Sunday's 23-14 loss to the Tennessee Titans.

Chargers 35, Chiefs 34
Drew Brees had absolutely no doubt the San Diego Chargers were going to beat the Kansas City Chiefs.

Chargers 35, Chiefs 34
After messing up for three quarters, Drew Brees and the San Diego Chargers finally got it right with little time to spare.

Titans Knock Off Jaguars, 23-14
The Tennessee Titans almost always can count on Jacksonville for a victory.

Colts 22, Ravens 20
Mike Vanderjagt didn't think he had been kicking properly all season.

Cowboys 14, Panthers 13
If Quincy Carter could play the first 55 minutes like he plays the last five, the Dallas Cowboys might be better than .500.

Bills 31, Texans 24
The Texans are the NFL's most penalized team and penalties cost them a victory Sunday against Buffalo.

Vikings 31, Lions 24
After a shaky start, Daunte Culpepper and the Minnesota Vikings picked up the offensive tempo and their first win.

Saints Demolish Redskins 43-27
The game was so wacky, Michael Lewis probably thought he was back in the Arena League.

Bucs 17, Browns 3
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were up 10 points on a hot, muggy afternoon, making Sunday the ideal time to unleash Mike Alstott on a tiring Cleveland defense.

Packers 28, Patriots 10
New England fans booed every time ex-Patriot Terry Glenn touched the ball. Then they turned on their own players.

Steelers 34, Bengals 7
Jon Kitna had the best game of his career against the Pittsburgh Steelers last year. He followed it with the worst performance of his life.
