Dynegy to settleEnron merger suitHOUSTON - Dynegy Inc. has agreed to pay rival Enron Corp. $25 million for backing out of a November merger between the Houston-based energy marketers, the companies said Thursday.Under the settlement of the lawsuit, Enron has agreed to release Dynegy from all claims related to the terminated merger. In turn, Dynegy has agreed not to pursue any claims related to its acquisition from Enron of its Northern Natural Gas Co. pipeline in the merger breakup aftermath.

Suit claiming Ford unit biased against Hispanics dropped
By Tony PughKnight Ridder NewspapersWASHINGTON - An Illinois lawsuit alleging that Ford Motor Credit Co. discriminates against Hispanic car buyers has been dismissed, an attorney for the plaintiffs confirmed Thursday.A group of Hispanic car buyers in Illinois sued Ford's credit division, claiming the company's policies encourage Ford salespeople to increase the annual percentage rates that Hispanics pay for car loans. Ford denied the allegations.
