KnightRidder.com appoints senior vice president of product and technology

SAN JOSE, Calif. ã August 29, 2000 ã | KnightRidder.com, a leader in local information and services and creators of Web sites that reach people where they live, announced today that Rohn Jay Miller has been appointed senior vice president of product and technology.

Miller is responsible for the strategic development and implementation of products across all KnightRidder.com sites. He is charged with developing the best suite of services and information to meet consumer needs, while also managing a portfolio of technology choices to take the Real Cities platform to a new level and create economies of scale across all Real Cities markets for KnightRidder.com and its partners.

Dan Finnigan, president of KnightRidder.com, said "Rohn brings a wealth of business and technology experience to KnightRidder.com, highlighted by eight solid years in the Internet space. As a recent executive of Collaborate and Ikonic, Rohn has provided strategic Internet consulting for top tier B2B and B2C companies such as Time Warner, Microsoft, IBM, HBO, Spiegel, Eddie Bauer, CMGI, WebTV and Sony Ventures. I've worked with Rohn earlier in my career, and we are fortunate to have such an outstanding talent joining our leadership team."

Miller has managed both creative and technical development teams of as many as 100 people per project, overseeing UNIX application designers, programming and systems integrators, information architects, graphic designers, production artists, writers, producers and editors.

At Ikonic, where he was a general partner and executive vice president, Miller led consulting teams for the development of Pathfinder for Time Warner, ParentTime for Time Warner Cable and Procter and Gamble, and @Hand for Pacific Bell. He managed development of Internet units and Web sites for Time Warner, Microsoft, Pacific Bell, IBM, Virgin Records, and more than 50 others, including creative, technical and strategic development.
