Heat Release Guard Khalid El-Amin

MIAMI (AP) - The Miami Heat released point guard Khalid El-Amin on Monday.

In his only action of the preseason, El-Amin was held scoreless with one turnover in five minutes Friday against Minnesota.

El-Amin, a second-round pick in 2000 by Chicago, averaged 6.3 points and 2.9 assists in 50 games for the Bulls during the 2000-01 season.

He signed with Miami last month.

El-Amin split time last season between the Gary Steelheads and the Dakota Wizards of the CBA, and with Strasbourg IG in France.
