No time to wallow for Lions
After dealing Penn State its second Big Ten loss in three games, Michigan coach Lloyd Carr called the Nittany Lions one of the "top two or three teams" in the conference. That's undoubtedly small consolation for Penn State after its 27-24 overtime heartbreaker Saturday.

ABC to carry Penn State-Ohio State clash
ABC Sports will regionally televise Penn State's Big Ten game at unbeaten Ohio State on Saturday, Oct. 26. Kickoff has been set for 3:30 p.m. in Ohio Stadium. The telecast will be the eighth TV appearance of the season for the No. 21 Nittany Lions, who are 4-2 following Saturday's 27-24 overtime loss at Michigan. Penn State has appeared on television in 97 of its last 98 games, including the last 63 contests.

Poise and discipline -- they're two buzz words that Penn State football coach Joe Paterno has sounded from the pulpit to his players over the years. Well, after two overtime losses in the past three weeks, you have to wonder whether Paterno is practicing what he preaches and what kind of example he's setting for his players.

Miami has itself a record-setting streak -- most consecutive weeks ranked No. 1 in The Associated Press college football poll. The Hurricanes, who extended the nation's longest winning streak to 28 games with a 28-27 win over Florida State, remained in the top spot Sunday for a record 19th straight poll.
