The head volleyball coaches of the Big Ten have tabbed Penn State to finish fourth in the conference during the 2002 season, conference officials announced recently. Ohio State, who finished tied for first last season, was picked to capture the 2002 Big Ten title. The coaches also have selected the Preseason All-Big Ten team, with Penn State's Mishka Levy and Cara Smith among the 13-member group.

Rams' Butler commits to Penn State Erie
Travis Butler, who graduated from Penns Valley in June, recently committed to attend Penn State Erie to play basketball for the Behrend Lions. He helped lead the Rams to a 24-4 record last season and a Juniata Valley League championship.

Penn State's most recent experience playing a Mid-American Conference school turned out to be rather humbling, a stunning 24-6 loss to Toledo on Sept. 2, 2000, in Beaver Stadium. Nonetheless, the Nittany Lions will get more than their fill of MAC schools in the years to come.

Football parking prices going up
