Learning program beams college courses to high school students
By Anne Danahyadanahy@centredaily.comBELLEFONTE -- High school seniors Scott Caldwell and Jake Rogers are among a growing number of students getting a head start by taking college courses from the comfort of their high schools.The two Bellefonte Area High School students are enrolled in Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania's Programming 1 computer class. But instead of commuting to the campus in Clinton County three times a week, Caldwell and Rogers take the course via a fiber-optic network that brings the class to Bellefonte High.
