[Tim/Kerr]
Rating: 6.0

When Nirvanamania grabbed us all by the short and curlies, everybody wanted a piece of the alternative rock. Anybody Cobain liked were treated like gods. It brought a lot of great bands to the attention of the listening public. The Vaselines, Meat Puppets, and old man Leadbelly.

Oh, yeah, and the Wipers. They're back now, riding the dimishing wave of alternarock. The good news is that they're still pumping out some good tunes, like "No Place Safe." On the other hand, many of the songs are quite redundant and reek of Bauhaus. I can't blame them for wanting to cash in their chips at Dead Rock Guy Casino, but I can blame them for not putting more on the table. Next time, bet bigger and we'll all win.
