Cover Art The Honeydogs
Seen A Ghost
[October/Debris/Mercury]
Rating: 4.5

The Honeydogs are not a bad band, but their albums suck. Seriously. I've seen these guys in concert a couple of times and they're loads of fun. Shamelessly safe but enthusiastic rock with that No Depression undercurrent tied up in catchy choruses. If you get a chance to see these kids play, you'll probably have a good time. If you listen to their major label debut, well... different story. I wouldn't say that the studio gloss completely sucks out anything cool you'd glean from Adam Levy's vocals, but... oh, wait, actually I would say that. Now I know who's ghost they've seen: Jakob Dylan's.
