Dead Cities
[Electronic Brain Violence/Astralwerks]
Rating: 8.0

Electronic music is gonna be big, so instead of calling it techno, it has to be called electronica now. Why? Probably to fool Elastica fans. Electronica's not the next big thing, contrary to what U2's Discotheque would have you believe, but electronica is the next big word. In fact, I'm getting a Moby just thinking about this potential Meat Beat Manifesto that I'm gonna have to get me a Prodigy for some KMFDM, if you know what I mean.

While I'm waiting for a woman who won't go ballistic on me, I'll be listening to Dead Cities, the new Future Sound of London album.

Fans of FSOL won't be disappointed by the trippy-dippy ambient passages jacked up with tarty beats here and there (sort of a more blue collar Orb if you will). I like this one as much as Lifeforms, and people who aren't fans won't be giving a single, solitary fuck over what I just said. Okay, newbies, if I could just implore of you one thing: Buy this disc. Thank you.
