Return of the Frog Queen
[Sub Pop]
Rating: 6.7

Former Sunny Day Realtor Jeremy Enigk, who parted ways with the group two years ago to further pursue Christianity, has returned to the scene with a stunning solo record that stabs your stratocaster in the heart and marks its territory with beautiful acoustic and strings harmonies. It almost sounds like Sunny Day Real Estate Unplugged, in fact.

Thankfully, the record has no religious connotations, just the wonderful sound of unforgettable Beatles- meets- Bowie pop melodies. The album's only drawback is that, after the first two tracks, it kind of puts you in Slumberland. That's not good. Hopefully, Enigk will put a more rockin' house for up sale in the future.
