Rating: 8.9

After listening to this CD, I have just one burning, itching question: what the hell does the picture of the girl playing the accordion on the cover have to do with this CD? There are no accordions in here whatsoever -- and believe me, I have an ear for accordions.

But I have to say I really liked this recording. The music is slow, Louisiana-swamp lounge music, and Chris Connelly's vocal style is more reminiscent of early Bowie than ever. It's sad music to listen to, but in a sort of "I'm- too- tired- to- kill- myself- pass- the- bottle- please" kind of way as opposed to the usual "I'm- watching- myself- bleed- to- death." kind of way.
