Having not heard these highly-hyped North Carolina folks, I was somewhat curious to hear just what they had up their collective sleeves. Well, sadly, it's nothing to write home about -- soft/loud dynamics, a few Pavement lifts gone wrong; this just has very little that I can endorse. Really, I wanted to like this, I tried, honest... I guess that there's some halfway listenable stuff here and there, but I'm a crabby 26-year-old, and this seems as if it's way out of my demographic -- has that 'all-ages show' kind of feel, which is rarely a good sign. Seems like Touch and Go has very little that's worthwhile to offer this decade, which is a bit of a shame; they certainly released more than their fair share of fine stuff during the '80s. Toooo bad...
