my Name is Charly Gordon. The dockters say that I shud right in this book so
that they can study what happens to me after the operashun. The dockters say
that the operashun is gonning to make me smarter and that I dunt have
nothing to be afrayd of. The dockters are going to give my mouse and friend
Algernon the same operashun. The dockters also say that I should listen to
this new cd by Limp and write what I thhink about it. I think that Limp
right nice songs that remind a little of that band on MTV Greenn Day.

I had the operation last night. I must say that I feel peculiar; though I
seem to be a bit lightheaded, my mind is racing. Algernon seems to be
recovering nicely. He's been through the maze four times already today, and
each time his speed improves. I gave Guitarded another listen this morning.
The fellow who sings reminds me strongly of the gentlemen from They Might Be
Giants. Come to think of it, the quirky pop/ punk nature of this material is
quite similar to TMBG, with strains of ska displacing the latter band's
accordion and other antiquated elements. It's decent pop music, but somehow
fails to be engaging.

Bad news. This afternoon Algernon did an odd little mouse dance that the
doctors felt was some sort of commentary on a new theory regarding Brownian
Motion. Later, he was nosing blindly around his cage, trying to find his
food bowl as it sat only inches from his face. His mental capacity had
diminished appreciably. Now, only moments ago, Algernon collapsed and
suffered a fatal seizure, the result of a severe brain dysfunction related
to our medical procedure. At present, the doctors are scrambling to try and
find a way to keep me from suffering the same fate. I am praying. Limp's CD
provides little comfort, the upbeat music on it far too one- note to help at
a time like this. They say that after tomorrow I won't have to listen to the
album anymore. Though I find Guitarded marginally entertaining, I'm
glad of this.
