The Seahorses
Do It Yourself
[DGC]
Rating: 6.7
So, it's another album consisting of a few white, British men harmonizing over
chords about the wacky "gihl" down the "way". It's trite, but surprisingly,
The Seahorses pull it off with a modicum of dignity and enough production
sheen to call it "almost good".
So, for those of you who can't get enough angst- filled, sensitive soccer
hooligan songs, this should tide you over until the next Oasis
release (poor sod). Oh yes, I ought to mention somewhere that The Seahorses' big name is
John Squire, formerly of the Stone Roses, though you couldn't really call that a big
name. At least not here in America.
