Cover Art Salt
Bluster EP
[Island]
Rating: 7.9

Sometime around mid-January, I saw Salt's "Bluster" on MTV's 120 Minutes, and even on the first listen, it totally knocked me out. It was pure rock genius, mixing the sounds of Nirvana and PJ Harvey in its cauldron, then adding a massive amount of Salt (the secret ingredient). "Bluster" is a good enough song that I shouldn't even have to mention the other three tracks that come with this disc. But, those other three songs kicked my ass just as badly, even before I got into the ring.

These Swedes are obviously out to prove that there's more to their country than Roxette. You should be anticipating the release of the full-length release in March.
