Roomic Cube
...a tiny room exhibition
[March]
Rating: 7.6

One day, I plan to live in Japan. Until that day never comes, I'll just listen to more Japanese indie rock. While it's getting harder to be unique with this Trend of Yesterday, Takako does a fine job converting all sorts of retro sound effects and analog synths into catchy melodies.

As usual, the lyrics leave something to be desired, but when I think about how hard it would be for me to write lyrics in Japanese, I guess I understand.

Roomic Cube didn't quite pop out at me and attack, but it does allow you some room to groove a bit which is nice. The production is really good, which can be credited to Buffalo Daughter, the masters of modern-day weirdness. They also acted as Tak's back-up band.

Swanky enough to impress the swingers, and enough to keep me busy while I make lunch, Roomic Cube is like mixing loneliness and love.
