[FFRR]
Rating: 6.4

Clearly, the music of the future is techno. Breakbeats and sound loops are the perfect soundtrack to today's hectic lifestyles. (Are you tired of this cliche yet?) The truth is, techno DJs are some of the most creative people making music these days. And DJ Icey creates some good sounds his second full- length effort, but they're somewhat elemental in their construction, and could probably use a little livening up.

"Can't Stop This Track" starts the record off with a stream of frenzied rhythms and digitized melodies, and "Acid Conga" is an outstanding example of Icey's masterful ability to create a unique and creative product, but he never seems to really hit the nail on the head. His weakness lies not in his ability to perfect the tracks he lays down, but in his inability to take them to the next level-- he fails to combine his sounds in a complex and provocative way, and it leaves the album feeling a bit dry. Perhaps Generate could benefit from some remixing...
