Britain Abroad

Welcome to our little website and our big ambitions

The Britain Abroad Task Force started work at the beginning of 2001. Primarily funded by the government, its purpose is to help improve perceptions of the UK around the world, especially amongst young people.

This site explains some of the background to the creation of Britain Abroad: why we exist, what we are doing, who we are and some background on our task.

Importantly, Britain Abroad is an inclusive forum for the exchange of ideas. Anyone interested in perceptions of the UK around the world can contribute ideas or observations.

If you have evidence of how the UK is perceived, of projects which have been successful or ideas which might help to close the the gap between perceptions and reality, then please let us know.
