Psion unveils Netpad tablet |
Psion has announced the launch of a new mobile computing device for business users.
Netpad, the first product from its Psion Teklogix division, is a tablet device for accessing company data wherever the users happen to be.
Earlier this year, Psion announced it would refocus its activities away from the consumer market, and concentrate instead on business-orientated wireless applications and devices.
The company says Netpad is aimed at enabling workers to conduct sales, and collect data at their point of activity.
It says the networks division of United Utilities is the first customer for the new device, but has not revealed financial details of the deal.
United Utilities' staff will use Netpads to service the water, gas and electricity meters of the company's 2.5 million UK customers.
