BBC's Omnibus to look at Lord Of The Rings creator |
BBC2's Omnibus is to dedicate a programme to JRR Tolkien, who wrote the Lord Of The Rings trilogy.
The programme will be broadcast on BBC2 in the first week of December, just before the first film is released.
It will take an academic approach to the life and work of Tolkien.
A BBC spokeswoman told Ananova: "The programme will be about his life and his writing and about the creation of Lord of the Rings.
"It will look at why he wrote the books in the first place as well as how he created the languages that he used in the stories.
"It will not feature any clips from the films."
Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring will be released in the UK in December.
