£35,000 train set built in Dorset back garden |
A Dorset man has built a £35,000 miniature railway to run around a model village in his back garden.
Colin Price has 13 engines, six carriages, eight trucks and one oil tanker travelling round his 30ft by 15ft track.
The 64-year-old's wife Shirley even makes train announcements via a loud speaker at their Ferndown home.
The floodlit village is made up of 30 houses, a farm and a church. Recordings of passengers chatting and carols being sung are played to bring it to life.
Mr Price says he started developing the miniature railway 18 months ago when he got his first train while on holiday in Florida.
He told The Sun: "I'm out there from 6.30am to 10.30 at night. It's like being a kid again."
