Two men and a woman have been arrested by police investigating the murder of Stephen Lawrence. The suspects, all in their 40s, were arrested in south London on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice. They were taken to various police stations for interview by detectives. A police spokesman added: "This is one further step as part of the lengthy and on going investigation. This investigation remains a vibrant inquiry." The investigation has not been scaled down but arrests for the murder are not thought to be imminent. Police officers are still keen to interview anyone with information relating to the murder or events surrounding it. Stephen Lawrence, a black teenager, was stabbed to death by white youths in Eltham, South London, in April 1993.
