PJ Harvey A Perfect Day Elise

This return after three years away should be so much more exciting that it is. With its off-the-peg Flood-produced post-industrial samplescapes and a chorus in close proximity to Portishead’s ‘Roads’, ‘A Perfect Day Elise’ would certainly slot onto any vaguely alternative radio programme, but PJ is used to being about not fitting easily onto anything. The B-sides are all afflicted Southern death drawl wrangles, so clearly all hasn’t been lost in the interim.
