Paul
Walker is homeless. For the past decade, the 27-year-old has called
various film sets and friends’ apartments home. “I have a hard time
sitting still,” he says. “Everyone says, ‘If you had your own place,
you wouldn’t feel that way.’ But I’d feel restricted.” His career
has been anything but: His performance as the devirginized jock
in Pleasantville led to roles in Varsity Blues and
The Skulls, and he soon will be starring in the thriller
Joy Ride and in The Fast and the Furious, an action
flick. Aside from his two-year-old daughter (by an ex-girlfriend),
however, Walker’s true passion is the waves. “I love surfing more
than anything” he says dreamily. Not that his schedule leaves much
time for hanging ten: “I’ve been working nonstop. That’s the trade-off,
and it’s worth it; but when I think about not surfing, I get so
sad.”
