The top 12 positions are awarded points as part of the CART FedEx Championship Series, with an additional pointawarded to the pole winner and driver leading the most laps. The event winner collects 20 points, with the runner up collecting 17 and third place 14 points. Fourth place is awarded 12 points, with 10 points for fifth and eight for sixth. Seventh place is awarded six points, with one less point being received for each following place through 12th.
