Thursday game in Week 8
The first Thursday game of the NFL season takes place this week. Detroit and Tampa Bay will face off on Thursday night at 8:20 pm ET. For that reason, waivers for this week will stop running Thursday morning. Also, for a trade to be processed this week, it must be accepted by Tuesday, 7 pm ET.

Fred Taylor is expected to play Sunday night despite a hand injury.

Future gains
Although Fred Taylor faces a tough test against Washington this week, John Hansen says to trade for the Jaguars running back now because he faces an easy remaining schedule, including five of the league's six worst run defenses. Tom Kessenich predicts the Jags' entire offense will struggle against the 'Skins, especially if Jimmy Smith sits out with an injured knee.
