Quinn Buckner

NBA/college basketball analyst

Quinn Buckner returned to ESPN in 1995 as an analyst for the NBA on ESPN Radio. He worked as a college basketball analyst in 1997 as well as studio analyst for ESPN wraps each Wednesday and ESPN2's College Hoops 2Night each Sunday. His primary college game assignment is the Super Tuesday Big Ten contest.

Buckner was originally with ESPN from 1986-89 as a college basketball analyst. He then moved to CBS as a college and NBA analyst from 1989-92, and a college analyst from 1995-97. He hosted NBC's halftime shows from 1992-93. In the past, he has also called games for SportsChannel and Raycom.

A tenure as Dallas Mavericks head coach sandwiched between his ESPN stints. He coached the Mavericks 1993-94 seasons.

A 1976 Indiana graduate with a B.S. in business, Buckner was a focal member of the Hoosiers' 1976 NCAA Championship squad, the last Division I college team to go undefeated (31-0), and considered by many to be the greatest college team ever.

After graduating from Indiana, he captained the 1976 USA Olympic Team to the gold medal in Montreal, and then went on to enjoy a 10-year NBA career as a forward with the Milwaukee Bucks (1977-82), Boston Celtics (1983-85) and Indiana Pacers (1986). He won a world title with the Celtics in 1984, giving him NCAA, NBA and Olympic crowns as a player.

Currently, Buckner also serves as vice president of USA Basketball. A Phoenix, Ill., native, Buckner was born on August 20, 1954, and is married with four children.
