| Darren Pang joined ESPN2 as a National Hockey League game analyst in September 1993.
Pang was called up from Milwaukee of the International Hockey League by the Chicago Blackhawks as a goaltender in February 1985, and joined the team full-time during the 1987-88 season. In 1987 he was a finalist for the NHL Rookie-of-the-Year award and was named to the NHL All-Rookie team. Pang decided on retirement after a knee injury during the 1990 off season.
In 1988, Pang worked as a guest analyst for ESPN during the Norris Division playoffs.
He continues to host the pre-game, between-period and post-game call-in shows for Blackhawks games on WMVP-AM 1000 (since 1992). He served as a color analyst, studio analyst and reporter for Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) telecasts on SportsChannel Chicago (1989-94) and an was analyst for International Hockey League games on Prime Network (1989-93). He is the goalie coach for the University of Illinois-Chicago Flames of the CCHA.
Pang, a native of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, also served as Chicago Blackhawks post-game show host on WBBM-AM and as the director and producer for the Blawkhawk Hotline Phone Service (both 1990-92).
Pang was born Feb. 17, 1964.
